Windows installer is stuck in loop for Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection

SEP trying to install over and over again



  1. SEP installation may be corrupted
  2. SEP Source file which was downloaded from Internet (Fileconnect Website) may be corrupted
  3. Installation Package which was created from SEPM may have been corrupted
  4. Windows Install has gone corrupt


  1. Go to Services Console (Start >> Run >> Services.msc)
  2. Look for Windows Installer services and disable it 
  3. Reboot the machine (Note: in order to Disable the windows installer services you will have to reboot the machine )
  4. After Rebooting the machine Change the windows installer services to manually and then run Cleanwipe to remove SEP client(Before Running clean wipe make sure you do not have any other Symantec Product install on the machine it might remove those products as well,)
  5. To Obtain Cleanwipe please get in touch with Symantec Technical Support
  6. Then reboot the machine and install SEP client again.
