Status of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) or Symantec Antivirus (SAV) 10.2 components is no longer correctly represented in Windows Security Center

Issue



Though the SAV or SEP interface indicates that antivirus and/or firewall components are functioning correctly, the Windows Security Center (or Security tab in the Windows SBS Console) contains incorrect information or a critical warning. This was displaying correctly in the past. Is there cause for concern?


Cause



This change was caused by an update in the underlying Windows components which populate Windows Security Center.

Solution



While this issue is only cosmetic and shown in the Windows Security Center, it has been resolved in SEP 11 RU 5 and SAV 10.2.4. Please update to these new builds (or newer) to correct the incorrect display in Windows Security Center.
