Problem
You want to uninstall the Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition (NAVCE) 7.x Netware NLM from a Netware server.
Solution
You should attempt to uninstall NAVCE using the Automatic Uninstall method. If this method fails, or if you need to completely remove NAVCE, then use the Manual Uninstall method.
Automatic Uninstall
Unload all Norton AntiVirus NLMs, and then type the following at the console prompt:
load SYS:NAV\VPSTART /REMOVE
Note: If you have manually loaded vpreg.nlm, then you will need to manually unload it to use the automatic uninstall method.
Manual Uninstall
- Unload the Norton AntiVirus NLMs by pressing Alt+F10 at the Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition console.
- Manually unload Vpreg.nlm to avoid any potential problems with the registry being in memory. At the console prompt, type:
unload vpreg.nlm
- Delete the following Norton AntiVirus directories:
- SYS:\NAV
- SYS:\LOGIN\NAV
- SYS:\SYSTEM\VPREG
- Delete the following files from SYS:\SYSTEM directory:
- Vpreg.nlm
- Vpregedt.nlm
- Vpremove.nlm

- Remove the Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition section from the login script.
- Remove the Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition section from the Autoexec.ncf file.
- Remove the NORTONANTIVIRUSUSER and the NORTONANTIVIRUSADMIN groups using NWADMIN.
To remove the AMS from your NetWare server:
