You upgraded to a version of Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition (AV) 8 or Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition (NAVCE) 7.x. After rebooting, you see a service failure message, and the following entry appears in the Windows Event Log:

Event log ID: 7000: Source Service Control Manager: Task Scheduler Service failed to start.

Solution



In the process of installing, the Schedlog.txt file located in the WinNT folder may not have been processed correctly. One solution to this error is to delete the Schedlog.txt file, and then start the Task Scheduler service.
