After updates are downloaded through LiveUpdate, the following error displays: "Error 6004: LiveUpdate did not complete successfully. Due to a transmission error, one or more LiveUpdate components failed internal authentication. Please run LiveUpdate again. If the error persists, contact your network administrator or LiveUpdate provider."
LiveUpdate is connecting through a proxy server with I-Gear installed. Reinstalling LiveUpdate does not help, and definition structure appears to be fine.
This error occurs when I-Gear performs the filtering on http traffic. Since the livetri.zip is downloaded via http, I-Gear decompresses the file, performs filtering, and thus breaks the digital signature. After the download of the definitions, LiveUpdate is unable to update the virus definitions since the digital signatures no longer match.
This error occurs when I-Gear performs filtering on http traffic. To solve this problem, create a user within I-Gear and then edit the schedule for this user to be unfiltered to run LiveUpdate. LiveUpdate will then function correctly.
