Issue



GRT restore of contacts from Suggested Contacts folder in Exchange 2010 fails with following error in the job log:


Error



0xe00002fd -  Cannot restore properties of one or more messages or folders.

Error in SGMON (or beremote debug) on  CAS:

[15402] 01/06/12 15:30:10 [fsys\mb2]           - <<<< RESTORE >>>> Opening folder: Suggested Contacts
[15402] 01/06/12 15:30:10 [fsys\mb2]           - MsgItem::CloseItem() - EWS extended error: [ErrorInvalidArgument] The e-mail address that was supplied isn't valid. 


Cause



This issue will come up if email address of the contact has some extra character.

E.g. abc@xyz.com. (a period at the end of the email address)

OR 'abc@xyz.com'  (quotes in the email address)


Solution
