Installation Instructions
This document provides installation instructions for Enterprise Vault 10.0.2 Cumulative Hotfix 2. The ReadMeFirst file, which is available with the cumulative hotfix at http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH201383, gives details of the issues that have been fixed.
Note: Cumulative Hotfix 2 includes fixes included in earlier cumulative hotfixes. You must install all fixes that are applicable to your Enterprise Vault environment to ensure that the cumulative hotfix is deployed correctly.

Installation instructions
To install this hotfix:
- Stop the Enterprise Vault Admin service. This stops all the Enterprise Vault services.
- Make sure DTrace is not running.
- Take backup copies of the files listed in the Files updated section.
These files are located in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (for example,
C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault), apart from the
following files:
- Performance Trace.ini is located in the subfolder
\Scripts for Dtrace (for example C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\Scripts for Dtrace).
- Domino server archiving only: EVInstall.nsf is located in the Domino Data directory of your Enterprise
Vault Domino Gateway server.
- Replace the original files with the files from the hotfix media.
- Domino server archiving only: On the Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway server, install the Enterprise Vault extensions for Lotus Notes and DWA clients.

Archiving guide that is located in the
Documentation
subfolder of the Enterprise Vault installation folder.
- Start the Enterprise Vault services.
To uninstall this hotfix:
- Stop the Enterprise Vault Admin service. This stops all the Enterprise Vault services.
- Make sure DTrace is not running.
- Replace the hotfix version of the files with the original files from the backup taken during the installation.
- Domino server archiving only: On the Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway server, install the Enterprise Vault extensions for Lotus Notes and DWA clients.

SharePoint server

Installation instructions
To install this hotfix:
- Take a backup copy of the file listed in the Files updated section, located
in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (for example,
C:\Program Files
(x86)\Enterprise Vault) on the SharePoint server.
- Replace the original file with the file from the hotfix media.
- Start a command prompt and navigate to the Enterprise Vault installation
folder on the SharePoint Server.

Run the SharePointFeatureSetup tool with the command line:
SharePointFeatureSetup.exe /install /httpmodule
To uninstall this hotfix:
- Replace the hotfix version of the file with the original file from the
backup taken during the installation.
- Navigate to the physical path for the extended site's virtual directory and
replace web.config with the original version that was backed up by the SharePointFeatureSetup
tool, for example, web_yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss.bak. This is to uninstall
the Enterprise Vault HttpModule from extended sites.
Enterprise Vault Mobile Search

To install this hotfix:
- Ensure that IIS is running.
- Log on as a local administrator.
- Run the supplied file

Installation instructions
To install this hotfix:
- Take a backup copy of the file EVReports.dll which is in the folder
\EVReports on the server that runs SQL Server Reporting Services (for
example
C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVReports).
- Replace the original EVReports.dll file with the file from the hotfix
media.
- Run the file EVDeployReports.exe, which is located in the folder
\EVReports on the server that runs SQL Server Reporting Services (for
example
C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVReports).
To uninstall this hotfix:
- Replace the hotfix version of the file with the original file from the
backup taken during the installation.
- Run the file EVDeployReports.exe, which is located in the folder
\EVReports on the server that runs SQL Server Reporting Services (for
example
C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\EVReports).
Files updated
This hotfix updates the following files to build 10.0.2.1218:

- Symantec Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-in.msi
Installation instructions
To install this hotfix, deploy the MSI kit to desktop computers using your normal software distribution application.
Alternatively, you can allow users to install an Outlook Add-In themselves. The users must have local administrator permissions to install the Outlook Add-In. In some cases the users can launch the MSI directly, but for some users you also need to provide a setup.exe file. The setup.exe file is included in this hotfix with the associated MSI file.

Compliance Accelerator server

Installation instructions
To install this hotfix:
- Stop the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service.
- Take a backup copy of all the Compliance Accelerator customer databases.
- Use SQL Server Management Studio to run the supplied file
Apply_10_0_SP2_CA_HF_2736708.sql
against each Compliance Accelerator customer database.
- Restart the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service.
- Restart all the Compliance Accelerator
clients.
To uninstall this hotfix:
- Stop the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service.
- Use SQL Server Management Studio to run the supplied file
Remove_10_0_SP2_CA_HF_2736708.sql
against each Compliance Accelerator customer database.
- Restart the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service.
- Restart all the Compliance Accelerator
clients.
Compliance Accelerator client

Accelerator\Client).
- Replace the original
Accelerator.Modules.SearchModule.dll file
with the file from the hotfix media.
To uninstall this hotfix:
- Close the Compliance Accelerator client.
- Replace the hotfix version of the
Accelerator.Modules.SearchModule.dll
file with the original file from the backup taken during the installation.
Discovery Accelerator server

Installation instructions
To install this hotfix:
- On the Discovery Accelerator server, stop the Enterprise Vault Accelerator
Manager service.
- Take a backup copy of the files that are listed in the Files updated
section. All the files are in the Discovery Accelerator installation folder (for
example,
C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator).
- Replace these files with the files from the hotfix media.
- Take a backup copy of the Discovery Accelerator configuration database and
customer databases.
- Use SQL Server Management Studio to run the supplied file Install_ConfigDB.sql
against the configuration database.
- Use SQL Server Management Studio to run the supplied file Install_CustomerDB.sql
against each customer database.
- Start the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service.
To uninstall this hotfix:
- On the Discovery Accelerator server, stop the Enterprise Vault Accelerator
Manager service.
- Replace the hotfix versions of the files that are listed in the Files
updated section with the original files from the backup taken during the installation.
- Use SQL Server Management Studio to run the supplied file Uninstall_ConfigDB.sql
against the configuration database.
- Use SQL Server Management Studio to run the supplied file Uninstall_CustomerDB.sql
against each customer database.
- Start the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager service.
Discovery Accelerator client

To install this hotfix:
- Close the Discovery Accelerator client.
- Take a backup copy of the file AcceleratorClient.Exe, which is in the Discovery
Accelerator Client installation folder (for example,
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local
Settings\Application Data\Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator\Client).
- Replace the AcceleratorClient.Exe file with the file from the hotfix media.
To uninstall this hotfix:
- Close the Discovery Accelerator client.
- Replace the hotfix version of the AcceleratorClient.Exe file with the original
file from the backup taken during the installation.
