Additional Steps After Upgrading SQL Server 2000 to SQL 2008 for SEPM

If you are using SQL Server 2000 for your SEPM, and want to upgrade the SQL Server 2000 into SQL Server 2008, then you need some additional steps to re-configure the SQL Server, otherwise, the SEPM service cannot start.

This is due to some changes of the SQL Server in 2008  version.

1. After upgrade the SQL Server 2000 into SQL Server 2008, run 'SQL Server Configuration Manager' from Windows Start Menu.
2. Go to 'SQL Server Network Configuration' and open 'Protocols' for <Instance>.
3. Enable IP1 and IP2 (host IP and loopback IP):

4. Run the 'SEPM Management Server Configuration Wizard' from Windows Start Menu.
5. Select 'Reconfigure the management server', continue and finish.
