Altiris Protect 1.1.5 Available

Altiris Protect is a flexible machine state retention solution based on the same core technology as SVS. With Protect, IT administrators can easily maintain the desired configuration of their computers by giving users their own unique configuration independent of the baseline system.
Altiris has released an important HotFix for Protect, called version 1.1.5. Protect 1.1.5 rolls up all fixes from previous releases and adds the following:
- Resolves incompatibility with v.10 of the Symantec anti-virus products
- Correctly handles MSI Service, so that MSI's deployed via an ignored management agent do in fact get installed to the base
- Resolves problem with USB devices

Protect and SVS on same system?
This would be great fix if it would be possible to run Protect and SVS on same system. I guess it is not possible yet?

Correct, that is still not possible, as the two products use different versions of the fslx.sys filter driver.

Protect and SVS?
Do you have any estimate when the fslx.sys filter driver would be synchronized between these two products?
I would guess that I'm not only one anxiously waiting this release :)

Is Altiris Protect Still Available
I'm a home user and I'm interested in getting Altiris Protect for my home computer.
I noticed that it's not showed as a product any longer under Altiris/Symantec's website.
Will this product be supported going forward?
Where can I purchase it?
Status of Altiris Protect
Protect 1.x has been removed from the price list. The engineering team is focused on development of SVS 2.5 and the Lightning project. Lightning is the 3.0 generation of Symantec's file system redirection technology, which will include both the SVS functionality and the Protect functionality. It's still TBD whether they will be sold separately or as one offering.

Thanks for your reply.
Protect is the perfect solution for home users concerned about protecting their personal data. Having a special login for web surfing that resets itself each time ensures that a computer will be malware free.
If you choose to distribute it as a combined product, I'd ask you to consider some pricing aimed at home users.
