Component definition

This component allows you to draw arrows on your process model. For example, this could be used to connect an annotation describing a component to that component. Arrows may be drawn on either end of the line, both ends or neither (effectively drawing a line). It is worth noting, that the arrow's end points do not "attach" to other components so if a component that an arrow points at is moved, the arrow will have to be adjusted accordingly.

Definition of component input value or values

Appearance
Input Value Name Input Value Data Type Req'd Example Format Explanation
End Arrow Boolean Yes Yes If true, there will be an arrow on the end of the line being drawn. If false, no arrow is drawn.
End Point PointF No {x=12, y=345} This cannot be set here, instead it shows where the end of the arrow currently is. Drag the end of the arrow in the process model to change this value.
Line Color Color Yes Black The color to draw the arrow in.
Line Width Single Yes 2 How many pixels wide the arrow should be.
Start Arrow Boolean Yes False If true, there will be an arrow on the start of the line being drawn. If false, no arrow is drawn.

Use case

Indicate what component a particular annotation describes

An arrow may be drawn from an annotation that describes what a particular comonent is doing to the component being described. This is especially useful if the annotation and the component cannot be placed right next to each other.

Todo list

Draw a line separating two sets of components. You may, at times, have a set of components drawn very near to each other that can lead to some confusion about where the flow goes. In this case, an arrow can be drawn with both "Start Arrow" and "End Arrow" set to false to draw a line dividing the two sets of components visually.
