Assign This Incident to Me

Aug 17, 2011 02:14 PM

Start in the Workflow Manager 7.1 and open SD.Feeder.TechnicianIncidentForms and edit the Create Incident Form.

  • Before creating the “assign to me” Button you need to make a space for it.  In this example I reduced the Address space and moved everything down to leave space just below “Select User”[AtoMe-A].
  • To prevent having to rewrite any of the workflow I recommend disabling or setting to optional, and setting the component's visible setting to “false” rather than removing from the form.
  • First copy the button used to set assignments and paste it into our new space.
  • You can make the button larger and in my example I placed an image “photo_portrait” on the form to be used later [AtoMe-B].
  • Let’s edit our new button, first set the text from “Incident Assignments” to something like “Assign to me” [AtoMe-C]. Next select the Visual Mode tab and change the Image Source from File to Resource and browse to the image [AtoMe-D].
  • Most important is the User Interaction tab, there are many components not needed for this purpose remove those components [AtoMe-E], now that it looks like [AtoMe-F] edit the Map User Assignment.
  • Set the Mapping Definition from the EnsembleSecurityToken Email to TargetName and Name to DisplayName [AtoMe-G].
  • Save the changes, remove the image placed earlier, label the new button, save the form, and publish the project. You now have a button on the form that will “Assign the Incident to Me” [AtoMe-H].
