Sometimes we face the problem that "ccApp.exe" process is taking a lot of CPU resources.
"ccapp.exe" application is an Email Protection Tool and sometimes acts a little bit crazy.
To solve this problem You need to perform exactly what I will point in next Steps.
1. Stop Symantec Endpoint Protection
Stop Symantec Endpoint Protection app using "smc -stop" command.
Stop Symantec Endpoint Protection from services.
2. Check if You do not have installed any of Email Protection Symantec Modules.
How to do that:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
Select "Symantec Endpoint Protection".
Click on Change.
After the wizard opens, click on Next.
Select Modify and click Next.
You will now see a list of components. Click on the icon to the left of Antivirus Email Protection.
This opens a drop down menu. Select This feature will not be available[all 3 email features].
Click Next.
Click Install
3. Run "msconfig":
Select "Startup" tab and uncheck "ccApp" application
Do not restart machine
3. Run "regedit":
Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and delete ccapp value.
Verify if those 3 keys exist. If yes please delete them:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SYMNDIS
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SYMTDI
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SYMREDRV
4. Check if files listed below were removed. If not please delete them.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\symndis.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\symtdi.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\symredrv.sys
5. Restart machine
