Definition of component input value or values

This component has no direct input values; however, a variable initialized prior to the form component on which the checkbox is placed can be used as the "Output Data" variable.  This will result in the checkbox assuming the value state of that variable at the time the page loads.

Definition of component output value or values

The output variable of the CheckBox component is a boolean (logical, true/false) datatype.

Component settings

To setup this component, first specify your style information (and the text you wish to display on the checkbox). Then, specify whether or not you want to use output paths. Specify a variable to hold the data the user selects with the checkbox. Also, if required, specify a default state to use BEFORE the user has entered data.

Use case

Checkboxes are used commonly for yes/no questions, such as "check all that apply." Other examples include "Do you want to receive our email newsletter?"
