DOS boot files are required for enabling system boot through PXE. System boots through PXE communicating with the PXE server which provides the required DOS bootable files to start the task specified in the Deployment Server. All the latest NIC use UNDI drivers and works fine giving maximum thruput, but for older version NIC's boot using UNDI drivers but thruput is restricted to 5 to 50mb/min.
To avoid this situation we need to insert the specific NIC drivers in the Automation boot files which can be done as follows:
From the Deployment Console open PXE configuration utility under boot menu options create New -> Create Boot Image as shown in Figure 1 and follow accordingly.

Provide any description and click on Next to continue as shown in Figure 2

Select Microsoft Windows -> Next

Click on Allow selection of multiple network adapters, select drivers from the list or provide drivers by clicking Have a disk. -> Next

The selected NIC drivers are listed in the following screen. Press Next.

For TCP/IP settings - obtain IP from DHCP server and click Next.

Click Next.
Default username and password specified, click Next.
Select default drive mappings and click Next.
The following screen shows the Configuration Summary. Click Next.

Select Automation PXE image and click Next

Click Finish to complete the Automation boot creation process. The newly created Automation file appears in the Boot Menu. Save the configuration and press OK.
