Wise introduction: Process to Create Simple MSI Package
Follow the below step to get started with MSI tool.
Below authentication screen will appear click OK to proceed further.
Click OK, you will get below authentication box uncheck the Use trusted connection box.
Click the icon to open Project setup.
Above MSI creation screen will appears click the icon to open a project setup screen.
Click the highlighted icon to open a new project.
Enter all relevant information in the right side pane. Click Close to exit from the new project screen.
Created project will appears in an active project list,
Check mark the Create package box and run the project by clicking the option next to it.
Below setup capture screen will appears:
Click Next to proceed further to capture the setup.
Select the snapshot option and click Next.
Click Next to proceed further.
Setup will scan the computer to find the exe.file define at the time of creation of new project.
Click execute to install the Application, this step help the wise tool to capture all necessary information about the application. Follow the normal installation process.
Once the installation is complete click Next.
Click Next.
Setup will again scan the system to find out the file and registry entries.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Keep the default setting and click finish to complete the application snapshot capture process.
Setup will create a WSI file on a given location at the time of creating a new project.
Right click on a WSI select the option compile with wise package studio to convert WSI file into MSI file.
After compiling the WSI file you will find the MSI package on a same location.
