If you create a customized resource type for example: Tablet
You are unable to see the customized resource in the Barcode scanning solution unless the "Base Resourse Type" = Asset
I setup resources with the Base Resource Type as "resource" so that I did not have all the extra associations I did not want in the Asset Resource.
So after days of testing the only way you can see any resource types inside of the Barcode Profile> Data Classes is to have the "Base Resource Type = Asset
On the Resource side:
Go to Settings> All Settings > Notification Server > Resource and Data Class Settings > Resource Types > Asset Types
I created a Customized Resource type folder
right click > New > Resource type link
Named the Resource Tablet
Selected "Asset" in the Base Resource Type
and saved the Resource
On the Barcode Scanner side:
Go to Home> Service and Asset Management> Barcode.
- Select the Synchronization Profile that needs to be edited.
- Click on the profile's Data Classes and Associations tab. Click on the Select button.
- You will now see the customized "Tablet" resource in the list.
