I have already spent more than an hour trying to figure out if my notification for upgrade to 12.1 gives me SBE or Enterprise.
You guys have GOT to straighten out your nomenclatures. Whenever I find references in support to version numbers, they use something COMPLETELY different from what I see in Help About. I have been in Information Technology for twenty years and this is MESSED UP.
Good Information
About the license, I still comfused. As long as I know license only for SEPM nor for SEP, am I right?
Hi,
I would like to clear your doubt.
Licenses are for both SEPM and SEP clients.
Major difference is in Small Business Edition SEPM & SEP clients will stop receiving definitions from all sources (i.e LUA, Symantec liveupdate server) if license expired.
In Enterprise Edition SEPM and SEP clients will not stop receiving definitions even if license expired.(But enough barriers are placed to track same)

What is SONAR proactive threat scans ?? is this new technology in SEP 12.1 ?
Hi,
SONAR replaces the TruScan technology to identify malicious behavior of unknown threats using heuristics and reputation data. While TruScan runs on a schedule, SONAR runs at all times.
See Managing SONAR.
