Generally software application is assigned to a packager through Development team. The Team should contain all the relevant documentation required to package the application e.g. Packaging Specification, Packaging Standard for each specific customer, and any other relevant documentation. It also indicates where the source files reside i.e. either on a share or on CD. The next stage is setting up the machine.

Setup Machine

Ensure you use the correct image (specified by customer) and repackaging tool.

    • Local--> Partition---->From Image

    • Select drive where image resides
    • Select ghost image e.g. W2K_W30.GHO
    • Select OK
  • Three Dialog boxes appear
    • Select source partition from image file - Select OK
    • Select local destination drive by clicking on the drive number - OK
    • Select destination partition from Basic drive: 1 - OK
  • Then Another dialog box appears entitled "Question"
    • Stating

      "? Proceed with partition load?
      Destination partition will be permanently overwritten"
      Select Yes

    • The progress bar will start and once it has completed a dialog box will appear entitled "Clone completed" stating

      "! Clone Completed Successfully"

      IMPORTANT
      Before resetting computer remove the Ghost Boot Disk from the A:\drive.

    • Choose Reset Computer

      The computer will then restart with the new image.

2. To take an image from a machine - follow steps above except at step 3 select To Image instead of From Image.

  • Local----> Partition ----> To Image

This process is usually followed once you have updated your user settings and mapped to any shared drives.
