Descriptive steps
.
1) Configure SCSP Management Console to automatically register Virtual Agent:
It is possible to configure within the SCSP Management Console the automatic registration of the Virtual Agent.
a. From the Admin tab, click System Settings,
b. Click on Agent settings tab and select both options within the Virtual Agents frame:
2) Configure Syslog:
The logs from the unsupported platform must be sent to a CSP agent in order to monitor them. Syslog is a convenient an easy way to do so.
Note: The server on which the CSP agent is installed is refered as loghost.
Configure syslog on the loghost server
a. Open the /etc/sysconfig/syslog file and add "-r" option to the variable SYSLOGD_OPTIONS as shown below:
b. Restart the syslog service:
Configure syslog on the unsupported platform
a. Open the configuration file /etc/syslog.conf and add the below entry to redirect the logs to the remote server:
b. Edit the syslog.conf file as shown below by adding the below line and IP address of the loghost:
*.* <Tab><Tab> @loghost
Note: The <Tab> entries in the following lines are a reminder to use the <Tab> character to delimit white space between the selector and the facility, not blank spaces.
b. Restart the syslog service:
3) Create the Virtual Agent Text Log policy:
a. Create a Text Log policy using the UNIX_Template_Policy,
b. Complete all the required field as shown below:
c. Apply the policy to the loghost CSP agent.
To see the events generated by the Virutal Agent, go to the Master View/Assets/Virtual Agents and select the Virtual Agent.
