How to Debug issues related to Portal and what are the logs files related to RU6 Portal?
 
How to Debug issues related to Portal?
 
Follow the steps below to enable debugging for portal
  • Browse to the location "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\portal".
  • Edit the file portal.properteis
  • Change the value of "portal.loglevel=" the values would be according to the table below.
  • Try to logon to the portal and generate the error on the portal. 
  • A file with the name "localhost_portal_log.2010-04-16.txt" will get generated on the location "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\logs".
  • The file is similar to scm logs, hence the troubleshooting should be easy from there. 
Log level Description
  1. crit  - Logs only critical errors
  2. error - Logs errors and critical errors
  3. warm - Logs warnings, errors, and critical errors
  4. info - Logs information, warnings, errors and critical errors
  5. debug - Logs debug messages, information, warnings, errors and critical errors
  6. user - Logs user level log messages, errors and critical errors
  7. trace - Logs traces, debug messages, information, warnings, errors and critical error
