ManageFusion 08 Orlando: Endpoint Virtualization Sessions (Updated)

Sep 17, 2008 02:55 PM

This year at ManageFusion Orlando, Symantec is offering updated core SVS/SVS Pro content, plus some new stuff from the product group now known as "Endpoint Virtualization"! There will be break-out sessions from Symantec experts, hands-on labs, alliance partner sessions and customer case studies -- from beginner level to advanced!

At each session you attend in the Endpoint Virtualization mini-track, your badge will be scanned. There are a total of five breakout sessions and three labs, so your name can potentially be entered up to eight times. The winner will be drawn at the closing keynote. The Grand Prize will be shipped to the winner.

What is the Grand Prize? An SVS surround sound system!

Provided by HP and SVS Sound, this SBS-01 system is compact, great looking, rugged, smooth, and immensely powerful for any sort of audio.

So attend the entire Endpoint Virtualization mini-track to maximize your chance at winning this awesome system!

In addition to the break-out sessions and labs, you will have the opportunity to schedule private time with members of the Endpoint Virtualization product team. And we have a few other surprises in the works, too! So if you work in an SVS shop, are planning to implement the industry's most flexible application virtualization and streaming technology, or just curious to learn more, this is an event you should not miss.

For exact session times and to sign up, registered conference attendees should go here.

Heath Doerr, Symantec Sr. Systems Engineer Scot Curry, Symantec Sr. Systems Engineer Intermediate

This session will discuss the packaging options available when using application virtualization and streaming. The function and use of tools included with SVS, SVS Pro and Wise Package studio will be covered. You will learn optimal approaches for preparing different types of applications to be virtualized and streamed in your environment. See corresponding lab below.

CM B23 - Customer Case Study: Optimizing Software Management at University of Utah with SVS

Brad Horrocks, Univ. of Utah Sr. Client Management Professional Sean Yarger, Symantec Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering Beginner

CM B26 - Delivering the Right Resources to the Right Users with PrivacyShell

Brian Lynah, Symantec Director of Strategic Alliances Beginner

PrivacyShell is a solution for fast, easy and secure application and data access from anywhere from any device. We will discuss the PrivacyShell Universal Resource Broker, Workflow Engine and Single Sign On.

CM L07 - Introduction to Application Streaming with SVS Pro Lab

Scot Curry, Symantec Sr. Systems Engineer Beginner

This lab will explain and demonstrate the various rules that can be applied to applications, users and groups, to simplify and automate application delivery, license management and license optimization. This lab will also explore the three different types of application packages that can be streamed, and their different behaviors. Exercises will cover uploading of packages, setting of rules and exploration of desired results.

CM L08 - Packaging Best Practices for Application Virtualization and Streaming Lab (SVS, Wise)

Heath Doerr, Symantec Sr. Systems Engineer Scot Curry, Symantec Sr. Systems Engineer Advanced

Successful implementation of application virtualization starts with good repackaging. Great informative Article on Virtualization. Thanks for sharing it here. By the way I have gathered more information on Virtualization through the conference Cloudslam 2010 which is the 2nd annual and virtual conference on Cloud Computing and its innovations. I got a good chance to meet and talk with the world's leading experts of Cloud Computing through the conference. I came to know about the conference and its details through http://cloudslam10.com.

What is the SVS events system and where can I get some more info about? This sounds like a kind of troubleshooting tool.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to attend ManageFusion.
