This article will walk you through creating a web part, portal page and then a "Dashboard" for easy viewing of software compliance for your management and helpdesk teams.

This article assumes you have Contract Management Solution 6.5 installed.

I. Let's get the report that we will use for all Software Compliance.

Go to Reports -> By Solution -> Contract Management.

  • Browse down to the report under Software License -> then Software License Compliance. Right Click on this report and choose clone.
  • Click of the copy of the Software License Compliance report and choose Edit this Report. This allows you to view the SQL for the Report.

  • Name the report for the Software License you desire. Edit the Global parameter name to only pull up desired software license name. See example. Repeat as many times as need for each Software License.

II. Let's create the web part -

Now click on View -> Configuration

  • Under this section expand Console Settings -> Web Parts
  • Right click on the Web Part folder and choose new. You can choose to create a new folder to organize your Web Parts or just to create a Web Part in the root.

  • When the Web Part is created you can configure it however you choose.

    Name

    • Will display the name,

    Choose Results from report

    • Select the Software compliance report in which you want to show in the new web part.

For the display options chose the format in which you want the web part to display in the new portal.

  • Press Apply. Repeat this process for each Software License you want to display

III. Let's create the Portal page to display the Web Parts we desire.

View -> Configuration

Under this section expand Console Settings and choose Portal page. See example below. We created a folder for Contract management and a different portal page for Microsoft, etc.

  • Right Click on the Portal page Folder and choose new Portal page. Name as desired.
    1. Edit the Portal page to add all the web part reports we created earlier. This shows how we added all the Microsoft License Web parts

IV. Last step... How to get the Portal page to Display on the NS as a "Dashboard"

  • Click the > at the top middle of the NS Console and choose edit menus.

  • Choose New Menu Item and name it Contract management.
  • Under the Contract Management choose to show nothing.

  • Right click on the Contract management Portal page > Choose to create a new Menu sub item for each group of Portal pages you want to display under Contract Management.

This will allow you to have multiple pages.

    Example:

The End Results...
