We ran into an issue where the configuration of the Altiris Notification Server during the upgrade from the latest 7.5 release failed due to an SQL insert error (violation of constraint PK_String).
Looking in the DB we saw that there was only one single entry with Culture "en-GB" in the CMDB.String table (this should be only "en"). After issuing the following SQL statement, the configuration process finished successfully:
UPDATE [Symantec_CMDB].[dbo].[String] set Culture='en' WHERE Culture='en-GB'
Maybe someone ran into the same error - hope it helps...

In SQL Management Studio, right-click on the database and select properties. Then click on the options page on the left. You'll see it in there.

If there is no 7.5 SP1 HF6 then the document is just wrong.

Migration Notes Required version of Notification Server 7.5 Notification Server must be updated to 7.5 SP1 HF6 before migrating from ITMS 7.5 to ITMS 7.6. Upgrade to 7.5 SP1 HF6 prior to beginning 7.6 upgrade activities. For example, if 7.5 SP1 is installed, an upgrade to 7.5 SP1 HF6 is required before migrating to ITMS 7.6.

I see that there is no mention about 7.5 SP1 HF6, there is only 7.5 HF6:

Justin, where do we check the compatability level?

Where do we get HF6 from? It is not (and never was) available in SIM.

Be sure you check the compatability level on your CMDB database. Mine was running in 2005 mode even after upgrading to 2008 R2 a year ago. If it is not set to 2008 or above, SIM fails on the configure portion of the install. SIM does not check this and there is nothing in the documentation regarding this. Thought I'd save someone else the trouble.
