This component may be used to associate/assign an existing cost center with an asset in the SMP platform.
This component does not have any direct output values.
This component must connect to the SMP platform to commit the association. This is most easily accomplished by using a "Create SMP Credentials" component upstream of the "Set Cost Center For Asset Component". The default input values (Global.NotificationServer, Global.NSUsesHTTPS, and Global.NSAuthenticationToken) will then be given the values configured in the Workflow Credentials Manager for the default NS connection.
The two input values "asset" and "cost Center" require the data types listed in the table above. This data can be obtained by using components upstream such as "Get Cost Center By Ids Component" and "Get Resource for SMP" (configured with the Resource Type of "Asset"). The results of these components will be properly structured to present as a valid datatype to the inputs of the "Set Cost Center" component.
Managing Chargebacks
Using a workflow process that includes the Set Cost Center for Asset Component, an Asset Manager can easily set or adjust the cost center(s) associated to assets in the SMP platform.
