Use cases

An example for the Terminate Window and Close Dialog component is as follows:

  • Web form survey

A customer service Web-based survey closes upon completion of a form.

Web form survey

Scenario: The help desk resolves a ticket for an employee. Later in the day, that employee receives an email that contains a link to a survey to evaluate the help desk customer service. The employee clicks the link and completes the Web-based survey. The employee then clicks Submit and the Web page automatically closes, thus ending the survey.

Process: This process is built in a Workflow Project type. The Terminate Window and Close Dialog component only exists embedded within the Dialog Workflow component in this type of Project. The explanation of the process starts with Dialog Workflow component.

The following screen shot shows the process:

Within the Dialog Workflow component, Event Configuration tab, Start Process, there is an embedded model that contains the Send Email component.

For simplicity, the recipient's email address is hard-coded within the Send Email component. The variable for email address can automatically be populated from a database, that is, read in from the ticket.

Next, the form within the Dialog Workflow component is designed. This design is done on the Interaction Setup tab, in the Dialog Model.
