Component settings
"Values" are configured and treated as paths exiting this component. For example, setting "Handle Equals By" to "Make Explicit", and then adding the Values "4" and "8" create the paths:
- less than 4
- equals 4
- 4 .. 8
- equals 8
- greater than 8
Each case may be handled differently, as a path is made available for each circumstance.
Use case
Truncating a Text Field
In the case that a text field on a form is writing to a length-capped database field, we may want to truncate any characters that exceed that threshold. Using this component, it could be determined that the truncation is necessary and the user then notified of the action.
