Tips and Bits From ManageFusion 2008 Las Vegas
So the second day of ManageFusion is full swing. Yesterday I was able to spend a few minutes talking to Greg Butterfield after some advisory meetings. He said in today's keynote that this would probably be his last "grand entrance" at ManageFusion. He came in a clown costume with a smoking hat, throwing confetti and generally being a nuisance. (I'm still getting confetti out of my hair.) Then the acrobats came out and well. you get the idea. It was grand.
Greg said yesterday that he will be moving on in June, leaving Altiris. He loves the company and the direction they are headed now, but he's more of a startup guy, having been involved in several in his career.
Today's keynote focused a lot on Workflow Solution, which should provide a lot of value to companies even outside their infrastrucure teams. Any process that involves paper would be a quick-win candidate for Workflow Solution. They had a sample of a broken monitor on a laptop being ordered, approved, and delivered in 30 seconds or less.
Some premier sponsors including Intel, also were able to get some face time in the keynote. They actually made it pretty interesting and you got a good look at where they are heading.
They also interviewed two magazine editors and received some interesting feedback on where things are heading in the computing realm.
The buzz for everything seems to be around Workflow and NS 7 Beta. Well I'm heading of to the Partner Expo. I'll try to get more info later.
