Vista migration?

In the article there is a reference stating that the migration to Vista is not a question of if, but when.

A lot of companies will not migrate in the next two years. Microsoft already stated that service pack 1 is coming, and Vista is a memory and resource consuming OS.

There will be a lot of companies that wait until the next OS, and stay on XP, because now it is stable and reliable.

Just a question, before

Just a question. Before I start the migration project, how can I evaluate if the hardware is Vista compliant? As I know only 20/25% of the current hardware is ready for this new OS.

Read the HCL

The only way to make sure if you're hardware is Vista compliant is to make a inventory of the hardware, and check it with the HCL.

You can find the HCL for Vista on www.microsoft.com/vista

Vista Compatible Hardware?

Microsoft has a Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) and an Upgrade Advisor to help answer your questions.

You can find information on both here.

Hope this helps.

Vista Compliance Reports in NS

I thought I read someplace that in the updates for Vista of the Altiris products there would be some jobs/reports in NS that would check for the ability to handle Vista?
