After using this for a few months now, I would like to see a button on the agent status page to re-poll all the data collectors at one time. This would make it really easy to poll all the data collectors at one time (after fixing problems or what ever reason you need) than going through each data collector and clicking the poll button. Thanks

I have a few ideas: In VBR 6.6 under My Reports > Manage Reports the list of reports is displayed this is good. If the report is scheduled there is an icon over the check box for that report. I'd like to see that icon moved to its own column. I created a different schedule and deleted the original schedule for several reports while testing and learning these functions. Now I can't get rid of the reports that I don't need because this "scheduled" icon is in the way of the ...

Object merging should not be restricted even if certain fields are not populated. We have so many servers that may  have multiple names since the backup NIC maybe defined with -bk and the actual server name does not. In addition when we discover servers, we opted not to qualify with DNS. Thus, most of the nodes in VBR do not have an IP address defined. It adds extra steps to update the attributes for 2 servers being merged.

Report sorting is case-sensitive, which sorts client names starting with uppercase first. For example, "Z" comes before "a". It also sorts numbers based on the value of the first character instead of the number's total value. For example, "71" comes before "196" because "7" is greater than "1". This makes for some very hard to read reports. It would be great to have an option to change the way sorting works per field.

When importing servers to a View in VBR, you should have an option whether to overwrite or append to an existing View. Currently if you do an import of a csv/tsv file using the name of an existing View, it will overwrite anything existing entirely. That's handy sometimes, but sometimes it'd be nice to be able to append an extra 25 servers to that View you have that already has 200 in it. Why waste the time redoing the entire thing if you don't have to ?

When installing the VBR agent software it'd be really nice if it actively complained if it didn't find a copy of any of the supported backup software's installed already. I've noticed a lot of people posting to the forums lately with "agent problems", that turn out to be because they didn't have the NetBackup Server software installed on their new agent server.

Can we have full support for VBR on Linux please? In my case, just a Linux agent would suffice at the moment although I'd really like to move my VBR server off Solaris and I don't want to put it on Windows.

Rework VBR so that the code to produce reports that it can generate are more "modular" (XML?), such that Symantec could issue fixes for individual reports/graphs, without users having to wait for the next release.   As a side benefit to users, you could have a website with pre-designed reports for folks to download to their systems. And maybe a way for people to upload their own versions to share with everyone.

When a VBR update requires that the database be upgraded as well, it would be really nice if the documentation clearly stated such. As an example, the VBR 6.5.3 point upgrade didn't require an upgrade of the database, while the VBR 6.6 upgrade does. THe problem is this : I just finished taking an hour of my upgrade window to make a cold copy of the DB file, all 47 GB of it. Now I run the VBR 6.6 upgrade program and it wants to make a backup of the DB too for the database ...

In VBR currently whenever you go to 'save', 'save as', 'email', or 'export to file' with a report, VBR will actually rerun the report and THEN do the operation you asked for. Given how long some of these reports took to run in the first place I think we'd be better off if instead it skipped that and just did the requested operation. If the user doesn't like how fresh the report data is, they can hit 'refresh' first and THEN save (or export or email..) the report. Or at least ...

When you setup a scheduled report for emailing VBR will send you an email containing all of the data in the report in whatever format you asked for - html, csv, etc. Particularly for long reports, it would be much nicer and cleaner if instead you had an option to email the report as an attached csv/tsv/html file that you could then open up directly with the program of your choice.

When you install VBR it prompts you for the install locations for several of the pieces of the program. It then proceeds to install the VxPBX, VxDBMS3, UUID, and VRTSweb components into a default directory on C:\ . If we'd wanted stuff installed there, we would've left everything at the default in the first place ! The Solaris installer does the same thing by installing some components into /opt/ instead of your custom location. I'd like VBR "fixed" so all components are installed ...

I put together a csv file with a bunch of View modifications in it and had View Builder import it. I've been sitting here watching the "status" bar move back and forth for 10 minutes now and have no idea how much longer this is really going to run. Can we get a real status bar of some kind that provides a count of how many views, lines from the file, servers, etc. it has imported out of how many total in the file? Otherwise, for all I know the process got stuck in a loop 3 minutes ...
