See forum link for detail (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/file-system-archiving-roll-back-methods-and-fsautility) Could FSAUtility be altered to allow rollback without overwrite ? Chris

When DA was a web-based tool, I could copy the errors from a specific search out to Excel and submit to my legal team as usually required. The DA client does not allow this. It also doesn't allow copy the list of custodians in a completed search out to Excel as well. This should be put back in.

It would be nice to be able to add a Browse option when selecting your public folders in the Wizard for setting up Public folder archiving targets

Hi, I was looking at http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/285115.htm and it talked about auditing in detail certain activities.  The deletion was one of them.  It turns out that the auditing feature does not log information for an expiry deletion , nor any detailed infomation about a deletion, (eg. subject, vault, etc.) We have had enterprise vault for a few years in our environment and no deletions had ever been performed.  We are at a stage where we would like to ...

Please add support for Windows 7 as client OS for Enterprise Vault 8.0. We have several users who would like to use Windows 7 as client OS. But EV seems to have some issue with Vault Cache Sync.

I think it would be great to scan for example PDF files with only images. We have multiple HP digital scanners those send out pdf files with a scan of the document. when this is archived yo uwill not be able to find the complete document anymore. with OCR the file is ofcourse more index-able.

Hello, I have found that this number is indicating the last day a FULL backup has been made. Because we run on SQL2008, our DBA's are performing a full once a week, and then a differential every evening. Logfiles are backed up every 15 minutes (which shows correctly) Is it possible to take differentials in account? It spooked me to see no backups had been made of the databases, but actually wer're save. Thanks Gertjan Alink

In Da you do not have the ability to delete a scheduled search. It would be nice to be able to delete scheduled searches from DA so searches no longer needed can be wiped out to keep the Environment clean

Hi all. One issue we have with users right now with Symmantec Enterprise Vault is when forwarding an email as an attachment. In Outlook 2007, normally when you want to forward an archived email you select the email and click Forward. This works fine in an EV environment. But when you want to send multiple items in the one email as attachments, you have to manually restore the email items before sending. For an admin that's fine, but for an end user it's another step to do. The alternative is ...

It would be nice if when i attached an archived mail item to a new email that it would automatically download the original item to the email and attach it, not attach the stub.

How about creating a third button, or an additional view for Calendar Items in archive explorer? The view would look like an Outlook calendar folder with month, week and day view options, etc.....as opposed to an email folder like it does now. It should also be intelligent enough to show the appointment on the day of the calendar that matches the START DATE of the appointment...not created date, archived date or anything else.

It would be nice if, in Enterprise Vault, one could choose to search only Email messages or only Attachments.

Hi, wouldn't it be great when there was a button in the Archive Explorer named like "recreate shortcut in oulook"? So when a shortcut were deleted but the mail still existed in vault, we could recreate this shortcut in Outlook and don't have to recover it from an Exchange backup. It would also be helpful if a migration of an archive went wrong... Regards, Viktor

Hi, Would it be useful if there was a way to easily recover an archive that had been deleted.  Perhaps when an archive is deleted, it doesn't ;really get deleted for another 90 days or so. This would then cover the case of accidently deleted the wrong archive.

So, users call in saying they can't restore or archive stuff, and you may be covering for someone to support EV, or just want a quick way of knowing if the system is working "as expected". We get a number of support calls and after investigating we find out the system is in "read only" (prior 8 this was the reg keys, and with 8 we now have powershell etc). I have always thought that, when opening the VAC, the code should do a quick check and either give a pop-up and say ...

Presently there is no easy way to review the progression of an index Rebuild. I request that a status indicator be added to the VAC to show the progression in the form of NO of items or percentage so as the admin can judge the progress of the index rebuild

To be able to move vaults from one vault store to another. This will greatly help all the long term users of Enterprise Vault because many of us have large vaults in many large vault stores. If we can move our vaults between vault stores we will be able to take advantage of the new fingerprint technology in EV 8.0 and higher. This will decrease the overall storage footprint for EV

Customer would like a SCOM Pack in EV8.0 that includes SCOM monitors. The current one just includes rules. This results in more work for SCOM administrators on the backend.

As it is now, it seems that EVSVR starts running, which is being logged in the logfile. Then, you do not see anything in the logfile until it is finished. It would be nice to get a message in the logfile every x (10?) minutes stating "Still busy, go have a coffee" or something. Especially verifying/repairing larger stores/databases, it would be nice to know that it is still doing something. Thanks, Gertjan Alink T2, Ivent EV80SP2
