...changing the BESA password would affect everything surely? The password and/or username would be completely different. BE checks this account AD to authenticate, and with the manual storage of the username/password in BE (ie. no integration into AD really), surely it would fail with new and old backups? Thanks!

This issue is due to be addressed in forthcoming Backup Exec Service Pack, but a pre-release patch is available that has helped resolve this issue.
