NDMP restore job fails with Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.

When attempting a NDMP restore the job fails with an Authentication error after mounting the media.  The same network logon account "ndmp" or "root" used for the restore job is being used for the NDMP backup jobs which complete successfully.

When backing up a virtual machine that has DFSR enabled using Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI), the backup may complete with the exception "Directory 'DfsRoots\Namespace\DFS-Share' does not support Granular Recovery Technology (GRT)."

There are currently no plans to address this issue.  For more information please see the technote on this issue.

Backup Exec 2010 Hyper-V agent GRT enabled Backup to disk jobs targeted to Advanced Format 4K Sector disk drives complete with exception: "V-79-57344-38721 - Failed to mount one or more virtual disk images". "Error mounting disks (0xe0009741)"

When using the Backup Exec 2010 Hyper-V agent to perform a GRT backup to disk job targeted to a large disk (2TB or Greater) the job completes with an exception and GRT selections are not seen in the restore view.   This issue occurs when the backup to disk folder is located on an Advanced Format 4K Sector drive.  Typically these drives are

B2D files are larger than expected when writing to a Dell SPO DL2200 virtual disk array.

May occur with other Dell SPO appliances. Currently under investigation.

BESR-MS 2010 console will not show all information when logged in as a Non-Domain Administrator user

The BESR-MS console will not show all information when logged in as a Non-Domain Administrator user; 'Alerts and Failures' list shows only 0 count for all computers and the 'Backup Status' window does not show the graph, only a message 'Data not found'.

This has been observed on a French locale system.

Automatic offsite copy does not run when external USB drive is attached after backup completes using Symantec System Recovery (SSR).

Problem

When using 2 external USB drives as offsite copy destinations in Symantec System Recovery, the offsite copy does not always run automatically when the drives are attached following a successful backup.

AVVI (Agent for VMWare Virtual Infrastructure) backup job of Virtual Machines running Linux Operating System reports an incorrect byte count in the job log.

This issue is reported with Virtual Machines running Linux Operating System and hosted on a NFS (Network File System) datastore. Backup job completes successfully but reports a byte count of the Provisioned storage of the Virtual Machine instead of the used space.
