Backup Exec 2010 R3 SAP Agent DBA-Initiated Backups to Tape do not initiate communication with the Media Server and the SAP Agent Job Log reports: "BR0231E Backup utility call failed"

The SAP Agent acts as a client for Backup Exec. Through the biparam.ini file, you set Backup Exec parameters for the jobs that you submit from SAP interfaces. For example, you can set a job name, specify a server or device to use for the job, or specify the backup compression mode.

During the backup of a volume that is hosting Windows and Macintosh files managed by a 3rd Party application called ExtremeZ-IP (Windows File and Printer Server Access for Macintosh) the Backup Exec Remote Agent services (BEREMOTE.EXE) may terminate.

Backup Exec for Windows 2010 Remote Agent service (BEREMOTE.EXE) terminates when backing up Volume managed by a Macintosh file and print sharing application ExtremeZ-IP

When trying to perform a restore of AD (Active Directory) backup using Active Directory Recovery Agent (ADRA) the error [SYMANTEC][Backup Exec Catalog Driver](Access is denied.) is generated in the restore selection

Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) / Symantec System Recovery (SSR) backup job user credential are unable to be updated.

Problem

Editing the password credential using the console/UI's Define Backup Wizard | Backup Destinations 
within a standalone / non-managed BESR/SSR installation does not change the backup job's cached credentials.

Conversion of a system OS recovery point containing Hyper-V Integration services to a Microsoft Virtual Disk (.vhd) results in a guest using the converted vhd file to hang on the Windows splash screen

Problem

 

Attempting to run a new Windows 2003/XP hyper-v guest from a *.VHD file, created through a one-time conversion or a conversion job, of a recovery point where the
Hyper-V Integration Services are installed hangs on the Windows splash screen.

First character of Check-in comment field garbled after Sharepoint agent restore of Doc Lib with major and minor versioning.

This occurs with a document library in sharepoint 2007 or 2010 with both major and minor (draft) versions enabled.  With major versioned documents present, back up the content DB containing the doc library.  After restoring the document with all its versions from GRT selections, viewing the version history of the restored document in Sharepoint will show

Fixinstall.bat generates, "The system cannot find the path specified," when ran on 64-bit OS's
Problem

When troubleshooting Symantec System Recovery (SSR) install on a 64-bit OS , fixinstall.bat fails to properly register the following *.DLL files and generates an error:

When a job targeted to a Quantum DXi OST device fails with a connection dropped error, duplicate OST media are generated.

When a backup job of a remote server fails with a network connection error and it is targeted to a Quantum DXi OST device, a duplicate media created with the same name as the last OST media being written to is created.

Note: This issue has been seen on successful jobs as well.

Error code web links do not open a website in Backup Exec 2010 R3

Incorrect coding of weblinks causes the URL generated against error codes in Backup Exec 2010 R3 job logs to be Invalid.

This issue has been resolved with a Hotfix

Differential and Incremental VMWare restores cannot use SAN mode

If you attempt to restore a complete VM form an Incremental or Differential Backup Set using the SAN Transport mode then even though the backup was originally using SAN Transport, the restore job will fail.

NBD restore from the SAN backup completes correctly
