Install or uninstall of a hotfix will cause a standalone machine, that was a MMS in the past, to become an MMS if the Central Administration Server still exists in the environment.

Install or uninstall of a hotfix will cause a standalone backup server, that was a Managed Media Server (MMS) in the past, to become an MMS if the Central Administration Server (CAS) still exists in the environment.

Side effects of the MMS re-joining the CAS in this manner:

Symantec System Recovery tray icon status is incorrect following a missed backup.

Following a missed backup, the tray icon status still shows as 'Backed Up' (green tick) instead of 'Attention Needed' (orange exclamation mark).

If the Symantec System Recovery 2011 user interface (UI) is opened, the tray icon status is correctly updated to 'Attention Needed'.

Exchange backups fail with 0xe0008516 - Resources specified for snapshot do not have any valid data on them. Check if files were deleted or renamed.

This issue will not be addressed in the current shipping product.  It will be addressed in the next major release.

Stand Alone Media Server is left in an inconsistent state after using the “Delete” option from the Media servers tab on the CAS.

 

Reg keys left behind:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Backup Exec for Windws\Backup Exec\SERVER

DjmEnabled:        0x0

DjmClient:         0x1

 

BEDB:

Bedb.dbo.device is inconsistent – the server DeviceState value is 1

Hotfix 147674 has been released.  This hotfix resolves a number of issues for the Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI).  Please make sure to read the post install notes for this hotfix.
