Problem

During installation of Symantec System Recovery Management Solution (SSR-MS) 2011, the install readiness check for 'RootAutoUpdate' fails.

Cause

This issue is seen when the server where SSR-MS is being installed does not have an internet connection.

If media is retired and deleted from a Deduplication Folder using the Backup Exec user interface, that media will show up again after the Backup Exec services are restarted.  When an inventory operation is run, Backup Exec ends up with multiple copies of the media it its database.

When re-directing an Oracle Database and Archived Logs to another Orace Server with an ASM Configuration, the Redirected Oracle File paths will point to the ASM DiskGroup and is typically referenced with a (+) symbol.

Problem:

'Unable to mount any of the requested recovery points' is seen when attempting to expand a recovery point using the Granular Restore Option (GRO) - see figure 1 below.

This only occurs when using the default option to open the recovery point in GRO ('Use latest recovery points for this computer').

A Granular Restore Technology (GRT) restore of a versioned document with more than 60 versions from a Sharepoint agent content database backup may fail with this error.

V-79-57344-33938 An error occurred on a query to filegroup
WSS_ContentDB\/\Versions..Version  document.txt:60.0.

Backup Exec System Recovery version 2010 is unable to use an Iomega REV drive as a backup destination. The error " is a read-only location and is not a valid destination." occurs.

Install or uninstall of a hotfix will cause a standalone backup server, that was a Managed Media Server (MMS) in the past, to become an MMS if the Central Administration Server (CAS) still exists in the environment.

Side effects of the MMS re-joining the CAS in this manner:
