As many of you may have heard, The Juice is about to undergo a big upgrade. The new site, called Symantec Connect, will be a combination of the Juice, the Altiris Technical Support Forums and Symantec Technology Network. Juice content and users will move to the new site on February 25th, followed by The Altiris Tech Support Forums and Symantec Technology Network later that week.

At approximately 5pm CST on Saturday, there was an explosion and electrical fire in the Houston data center that hosts the Juice.

Thankfully, no one was hurt by the explosion.

The Juice server was without, er, juice for about 36 hours. It appears that we have everything back in running order.

When you create an event, you can also enable the "Signup" functionality to help manage attendance.

Signup does the following:

  • Asks your users to RSVP to the event by clicking on a link and providing some contact information.
  • Sends them an event reminder at a predetermined time (usually 1 day) before the event.
