Altiris Beta Program: Symantec Mobile Management 7.0 Beta - Now Available

Announcing the release of the Symantec Mobile Management 7.0 Beta, built on the Symantec Management Platform. You may anticipate the beta cycle for this product running through the end of August. If you would like to participate in this beta, please go to http://beta.altiris.com and register today.
Here are the new features for this release:
This release introduces numerous capabilities for mobile management integrated on the Symantec Management Platform 7.0 with the following features:
- Over the Air Sensitive Management – Leverage the Mobile Management Service for managing devices outside the firewall. Features and designed for bandwidth and power sensitivity
- Rich Inventory – Gather information on mobile device hardware, operating system, and software.
- Intelligent Software Management – Granular software delivery actions include installation, uninstall, process termination, reboot, and file copying. Automate application healing using software package metrics.
- Remote Assistance – Manage mobile device subsystems including processes, the file system, and registry. Remotely control the mobile device with advanced features for screenshots and video recordings for service tickets.

support for blackberries and iphones?
I see in the release notes it will suppport Windows Mobile devices. Will it support Blackberries (RIM) and iphones?

Jonathan,
Symantec Mobile Management 7.0 will support the following platforms:
BlackBerry support will be added in the next release (7.1). The iPhone has serious SDK limitations that prevent one from doing real device management. We're trying to work with Apple to understand if and when they will add background process support as well as access to system information that we would need to manage those devices.

I know you guys are "working on it" but I'd like to seriously throw my support behind managing iPhones and Android Phones.

Where to go, what to do, for Beta Mobile Management 7.1, or SP4?
Not clear if the next release will be on 7.1 platform or keep separatly 7.0, because document told about the 7.0 sp4?
