Altiris IRC Chat Room
As an Altiris Administrator for my company, I found it fairly easy to find solutions to my problems from either the Juice or the Knowledge base. Then I took a Notification class with 8 other Altiris Administrators and discovered that I was learning more about Altiris and its products just by talking with my classmates on our breaks. I decided that Altiris should have a chat room where Administrators can discuss issues and help others struggling. I was unable to find a chat room so I created one of my own. I decided to use IRC because it was easy enough that anybody could use it.
So please join us on IRC for discussions, help, solutions and chatting.
You will need to download a IRC client, I recommend http://www.mirc.com/

Is this chat room still operational? How do I specify the server and channel to get connected?
Helpdesk error message on ticket saves
I am having an issue with all of the users in our Helpdesk system. Our users are getting an error message from time to time that states"the server has been rebooted or resarted please click here to return to your last page" type of message. When they return back the editing of th eticket is gone and needs to be re-entered.
What is the port number?
What is the port number to be used? If there is more than 1 please let me know.
Implications of keeping duplicate name.domain
I have a separate network for testing that has the same domain name and computer names as my production network. I want the ns on this network to forward to my reporting server, but I will have duplicate name.domain's that really are different serial numbers. What is the best way to handle this.
