Authenticate This

 

When I am out meeting customers I sometimes run into questions about the Symantec Authentication Service. This often occurs in the context of a conversation about Veritas Backup Reporter, NetBackup Access Control, NetBackup Operations Manager or other Symantec products using the same infrastructure. The first resource I usually point out is the Symantec Yellow book called, "Symantec Product Authentication and Authorization". The book does a great job of explaining how authentication and authorization work and also explains how you should configure it. In addition I suggest I suggest taking a look at the "Symantec Product Authentication Service Administrator's Guide" which has very good examples plus thorough command line references.
