Development of OpenVMS agent for Backup Exec

We have a client that currently uses Backup Exec as part of their enterprise backup/archival process. We have sold a system to them that is based on the OpenVMS operating system. Symantec does not currently provide a Backup Exec agent for this operating system and the client cannot afford the cost of replacing Backup Exec with NetBackup (which does have OpenVMS support) and recertifying their backup/archival process. So, I was wondering whether it was possible to work with the Syamantec Backup Exec Developers to write an OpenVMS agent for Backup Exec to resolve this client's perdicament. Does Syamntec have an established process/program for working with third party developers to write agents for other Operating Systems that can work with the Windows based Backup Exec server?

Thanks in advance for any information you provide.

Eric

OpenVMS agent

I have a mixed architecture environment comprising 2 x windows servers running BackupExec v12.0 and 1 x OpenVMS server v8.4. Please can you advise whether I can install an agent on the OpenVMS server that will allow me to manage backups from (one of) the Windows servers?

Support Solaris ZFS & improve Linux file backup safety

i would like BE support Solaris ZFS. and linux file backup safety.

I test BE 2010 R3, if full backup in 11.3, after someone copy modify time 11.1 data to server. if you run BE increment or differential backup, 11.1 file could not backup to type.

OpenVMS

Unfortunately BE doesn't support OpenVMS or any of the VAX, Alpha or Itanium platforms and we actually exited support for Itanium not too long ago.

Solaris and ZFS

Support for ZFS on Solaris is not on the roadmap. Would you be considering a Linux platform with ZFS in the future?

Backup Exec Plug-in for Kaseya

We are attempting to try the Backup Exec Plug-in for Kaseya, but get the following error on every Backup Exec page in Kaseya...

Unable to display Dashboard details. Please try after some time.
Please check log for more detail.

Our Kaseya server listens on port 88 instead of the standard port 80 and we're guessing that is the problem.  Does anyone know how to change the settings to make this work with port 88?

Thanks in advance.

Custom Kaseya port

We use a custom port for kaseya web service and would like to know how to specify that to the Management Plug-in for Kaseya.

Cheers

Can you still get onto this

Can you still get onto this Beta (the kaseya one I am interested in mainly)

We have a ton of Backup exec sites and monitoring is a serious pain.

Cheers
