Hello Symantec customers. I am a usability engineer working in Backup Exec. I have new design concepts for a possible future release of BE that I would like your feedback on. In order to make products that better fit  your needs, we need your input.

This study is a 1.5 hour study that you can participate from the comfort of your home or office. All you need is Internet access and a phone to dial into the toll-free number to participate.

If you would like to participate (and I hope you do), please go here to sign up for a session:  https://www.timetrade.com/book/MJB9L

Once the appointment is scheduled I’ll send you a meeting request with the con call info and WebEx link.

Thank you for your participation and I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Jessica Rich

I just tried to book a time but it says "there are no appointment times available". I'd be happy to give feedback as I've had a number of issues with BE 2012 that work fine in BE2010 and not even Symantec was able to assist with them.   I only have one client still using BE 2012, I've set up 3 new clients since that install and I've used 2010 in the new installs to save time and get the features needed that aren't available in 2012.

Hi Jessica,

I am yet to get a download link for the Backup Exec 2012 R2 beta.

How do I participate in the usability test when i do not have the R2 downloaded and installed.

I already signed up fro the beta test.

Hi Nene,

Usability sessions and Beta are 2 separate programs. You do not have to be in the Beta program to participate in usability sessions.

Usability sessions don't require you to have any version of BE downloaded. Once a usability session is scheduled and you sign up (via the time trade link) the usability engineer will provide you with a toll free conference call number and a webex link. You will be remotely connecting into a BE machine or mock-ups to participate. All you need is a phone and Internet access!

We only have 2 time slots available for the current session, so if you are interested please sign up here:

https://www.timetrade.com/book/MJB9L

If that session is booked, please email me your name and contact information and I will contact you for a future usability session.

Warm regards,
 Jessica

Hello and thank you for your willingness to participate. We have customers from all over the world participate in usability sessions and welcome the feedback. This study has gained a lot of interest from our BE customers. I have been updating the appointment calendar on time trade weeks ahead of schedule and its getting booked within minutes of the update! This is very good news for Symantec, we want your feedback.

Session availability (due to high demand) are limited. Although each study has limited appointments we are continuously running usability sessions where you will have the ability to give us your feedback.
Please continue to watch my blog for open usability sessions and upcoming studies!

Thank you so much for your feedback.

Hello and thank you for your willingness to participate. We had a great turnout for this test and booked out 3 weeks of testing. We have closed the testing because we are completely book, but will reopen it soon. I will send out a new link to schedule future appointments. Thanks again!

Jessica,

I certainly hope Symantec is seriously reconsidering an overhaul of 2012 which is

an absolute disaster. I will not deploy that on any server I support.
