Hi all,

Here are a few of the tunes and tweaks we've been working on in the past week:

  • Based on some feedback we received from the Trusted Advisors at the recent Endpoint Management Advisor Summit, we've changed the order of the Topic selection area of the content submission form. Apparantly a lot of the "drive by" posters were marking the first possible checkbox in order to quickly submit their question to the forums. Unfortunately, the first option was Events => Vision.
  • We added a new "Newsletters" tab to the top of user profile pages. This tab allows users to register formal newsletter emails from various Connect communities.
  • We added the Varnish HTTP Accellerator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varnish_%28software%29) to our servers in our never ending quest to keep the site snappy and responsive for our users.
  • We changed the way we are doing some configuration on the site from submission-form based (that all admins have access to) to code-based (that only the devs have access to). This should keep us from saying, "Who the heck changed that?"
  • Upgraded the Flag module to flag-6.x-1.2.
  • Upgraded the Image module to image-6.x-1.0-beta5.
  • Upgraded Imagecache Profiles module to imagecache_profiles-6.x-1.2.
  • Fixed some case mismatching problems in the developer docs (on a Linux server, case does matter).

Enjoy!
Kevin

does any of this have to do

does any of this have to do with why I was greeted with the following text when I tried to log in today?
and was forced to click agree before I could even log in, even though I've had my  account for over a year now, I can see that being a requirement for a newly created account but not an existing one.

Symantec "CONNECT" and its associated discussion forum and community support website ("Online Communities Website") and related services (the "Services") are provided by Symantec, Inc. ("Symantec", "us", and "our", and "we").

As a matter of fact ... yes

We discovered a bug that was letting legacy users log in without agreeing to the terms and conditions.

OK, No Problem. . .

Thanks for the reply & info;

I just find is annoying, that there was no info saying that's why this is being requested

it would have been nice if the page stated that:

"Everyone, including legacy, current, & new users are being asked or asked "again" or for the first time to agree to the ToS,  T&C etc.

Cheers
