Customer Case Studies Wanted!

In general we are looking for volunteers to do a 45 minute presentation about your environment. We would like to make it as interesting and useful for the attendees as possible. In most cases, if the presentation is composed of the following sections, the sessions go very well.

  1. Overall description of the company, what they do, how they are unique and where does Altiris fits into the big picture.
  2. What's happening in the specific industry segments, what are the competitive pressures that the company is under. 
  3. What caused the decision to install Altiris. What was going on in the company and what sorts of business issues caused the company to think about improving internal IT services?
  4. What were the business goals and technical goals for the project?
  5. How did you go about designing, implementing and training on the system?
  6. What went well with the project?
  7. What would you have done differently if you were to do it all over again?
  8. What advice would you like to share with others considering the same kind of project?

Current job:
1500 workstations across 32 office locations. Recently migrated from 8 windows domain and 2 Novell directories to 1 AD (using Altiris). Mix of OS's, everything from Win98 to Vista. 137 unique models of hardware, till recently 90% were somewhere between 3-8 years old. Converged 5 ticketing systems into 1 Altiris Helpdesk instance. Pushing software with DS and NS in all locations (both technologies in all locations). Have images for new Dell standard hardware, ramping up on HIIS for the other models. As you can see, using Altiris is key to cleaning this up.
