Mobilezone - Europe, Middle East, Africa | Retail | Enterprise

Cell phone chain mobilezone has more than 130 stores throughout Switzerland and employs more staff on the sales frontline than at its headquarters in Regensdorf, Switzerland. The HQ-based IT team has a very challenging environment, with the entire infrastructure being operated in-house, and it is consequently dependent on software that can be implemented quickly, is easy to operate, and helps to provide an optimal service for internal customers. One relatively recent arrival is Altiris Client Management Suite 6.0 from Symantec, which had a baptism of fire with the launch of Apple’s iPhone lifestyle cell phone: the iTunes software―without which the smartphone cannot be activated―had to be installed on every PC at every branch at a stroke. mobilezone also purchased Symantec Enterprise Vault to ease the load on its Exchange environment. Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition, finally, replaced no fewer than four different tools and now protects the PCs and point of sale systems in the stores against threats and attacks.

The Battery Source - North America | Retail | Small Business

The Battery Source, a five-employee, certified woman-owned retailer of batteries in Las Vegas, moves tens of thousands of batteries each month, thanks in part to personalized service and careful inventory control. They have used Symantec security and data protection solutions for more than 10 years, assisted by Symantec Silver Partner Kortek Solutions. Two-thirds of email is now blocked as spam, saving users 30 to 60 minutes a day, and backups are auto¬matic and trouble-free, leaving employees more time to serve customers.

Yilan County Government - Asia Pacific, Japan | Public Sector | Enterprise

Yilan County Government needed to maximize availability, enhance disaster recovery, and provide reliable data protection for its business critical document management system. It turned to solutions from Symantec with services and support from Symantec Platinum Partner Stark Technology Inc. Results include zero unplanned downtime and 99.99 percent availability for the system, less than three minutes to fail over the application locally, a one- hour recovery time objective (RTO) with no data loss in a disaster sceario, a 99 percent or greater average deduplication rate for backup data and 22-fold faster backups of more than 25 million files.

Wayne State University - North America | Education | Enterprise

Detroit’s Wayne State University is centralizing IT and expects to as much as double hosted data in the next year. Data management staff can’t be increased, and the university has turned to Symantec for a data protection upgrade. Projected results include twice as much data accommodated without increasing staff, US$135,000 in reclaimed drive space, 40 percent reduction in staff labor costs for recoveries, and up to fourfold longer data retention capacity, increasing productivity.

Arsys a long-term satisfied customer of NetBackup, extended the relationship to include two NetBackup 5220 Backup Appliances to provide a unified, comprehensive, and scalable backup and restore solution for VMware. Deployed extremely quickly and easily with support from Symantec partner SCC, the NetBackup Appliances have lowered the amount of data backed up by 55 percent, cut the number of failed backup jobs from 20 percent to 4 percent, and introduced agile and streamlined end-user reporting.

Hillsborough County Public Schools - North America | Education | Enterprise

Hillsborough County Public Schools centralized the management of its 85,000-plus endpoints with solutions from Symantec. The solution simplifies and consolidates licensing, improves risk posture, and maintains remote management of all endpoints.

PGi - North America | Business Services | Enterprise
