Deploy DS jobs to NS collections?
Updated: 11 Jul 2008 | 5 comments
I have the DS server installed as well as the DS solution which gives me the Deployment tab in my NS console. When I try to use this new tab to deploy a DS job it tells me I have no DS computers available. Is there an agent I need to push to my systems to make it work? If I can't push DS jobs to NS colections using this tab what it the purpose of having it there?

Aclient needed...
If your systems already have aclient installed all you have to do is in the Deployment Web Console is add your Deployment server by clicking on new server.

Already there
The DS is already there it's just not seeing the clients with aclient installed, not even the one that shows up in my NS collection as being a deployment agent computer.

Is your DS server database
Is your DS server database on the same SQL server as the NS Database?
Is your express service running?
The 32-bit console will come up as will the Web console without the express service running, but no managed clients will appear in either console without this service running.

Install de DS Agent in your DS Server
Hi, you only have to install the DS Agent in your DS Server (i supose you have in your DS Server the altiris agent installed if it is a different server than the NS).
First you have to configure the DS Agent with a SQL Account (no windows account), with dbo rights to DS DDBB.
After that you could see (after the sync) all your agents inside NS collections (if the AClient is installed in your computers of course :))
