Nielsen/NetRatings recently reported the top converting e-commerce sites for February. They were:

Proflowers.com
1-800-Flowers.com
Lands' End
QVC
eBay
Office Depot
Amazon
Symantec
Crate&Barrel
Home Shopping Network

You may have noticed flower shops at the top of this list, which makes sense considering that it's February. What you may not have noticed is that all ten of the top converting sites use VeriSign SSL. Furthermore, four of the ten(Proflowers, eBay, Symantec, and HSN) have chosen to display the VeriSign Secured Seal on their sites.

Actually, leading European travel site Opodo measured the difference in sales between when it had the seal displayed and when it did not. Opodo saw a 10% sales uplift when the seal was included over when it was not.

You can see the full story at http://www.verisign.com/Resources/success-stories/Hospitality/Opodo.html?sl=hp_ss_opodo. I'll be adding this topic to main entries in the blog as well.
