Dow Jones Adds Symantec to Sustainability Indexes
Symantec has been named to the 2008 Dow Jones Sustainability (DJSI) World and North American Indexes. The DJSI is one of the most respected indicies tracking the economic, social and environmental performance of leading companies focused on corporate responsibility. Being added to the DJSI is recognition of the commitment Symantec and its employees have made with respect to sustainability practices around the globe. The underlying value of the DJSI is that Symantec now has a benchmarking tool against which the company's progress can be measured.
Investors practicing socially reasonable investing consider both the return on investment and the broader social implications of holding equities. Recognition as a sustainability leader enhances Symantec's reputation in the eyes of its shareholders and financial analysts.
To learn more about Symantec's sustainability practices please listen to a Podcast Interview with Cecily Joseph, director of Corporate Responsibility at Symantec. In this Podcast, Cecily talks about what Corporate Responsibility means to Symantec and the key takeaways of the recently released Symantec Corporate Responsibility Report.
