Power saver solutions should be encouraged by everyone. Even though it may be a little expensive but in the long run it is very good for us and the whole world as a whole. The low emission and waste is the most attractive thing about it.

Improve the quality of recycling collected from homes and businesses, promote a stronger market for recycled materials better quality materials will compete better on the domestic and international markets, and attract higher and more stable prices. Waste crime includes fly-tipping, the operation of illegal waste management sites and the illegal export of waste. It can damage the environment and human health, cause pollution, and harm local neighbourhoods so save money, end waste and reduce carbon emissions.

According to their forum, the new release does support SMP 7.1 SP1 and it will be available on the 22nd July in the SIM installer.

Jun 02, 2011 04:56 PM

Does the current eiPower release support SMP 7.1 SP1 ?

Apr 08, 2011 09:21 AM

Yes, eiPower will be available for SMP 7.1 by the end of April. We will announce it on our forums. If you have not registered at our forums, please do so at forums.entisp.com. Use you company email domain, it will not accept gmail, hotmail or any other public email domains.

Documentation for 7.0 was pulled back several weeks ago and corrected. It will be placed in the SIM late next week, however you can get a copy by emailing info@entisp.com.  Documetation for 7.1 will be available at the product release date.

Apr 07, 2011 08:43 PM

What's the plan for supporting SMP 7.1 ?  I heard a rumour that eiPower would be available by end of April (2011?).  Is that true ?

Apr 07, 2011 08:42 PM

Where is the documentation for eiPower ?  Is there a user guide and implementation manual?  There doesn't appear to be online help integrated with the SMP console, nor does eiPower appear in the documentation library downloaded via SIM or posted in the Symantec KB or Connect.

Nel,

I just sent you an email within the forum, here is my email address - joed@entisp.com.  Based on 100k computers, you have the potential to save 3 million dollars and that is a conservative estimate. We have a ROI spreadsheet that will show you when you will make your money back, and you can calculate your cost savings using a third party tool (specifically the EPA calculator).

eiPower will also calculate your energy cost, usage, and carbon emissions for desktop PCs.

Please email for more details.

Best Regards,

Will the cost justify the savings?
so if we are having 10,000 computers , we have to buy the same amount of eiPower Saver Solution to compensate the needed load.
thanks.

Curious what this does to save money above and beyond the already extensive power-saving settings in most modern operating systems.  Is the savings versus a PC with all power saving settings disabled?

Just thought I’d drop a quick post in to say we have purchased 1500 seat licence for this product, and has successfully implemented it into our Dell environment.
The product seams to work well, I wish there was more people using it thou to be able to bounce ideas off..
Cheers,

Hi All,
I'm checking this thread more often as sometimes I don't get notification of your posts.
eiPower Saver Solution 1.0.10 is available for evaluation. Please go to forums.entisp.com, register, and follow the link to download.
Our documentation says Beta, we will be updating it over the next few day, but the content to install and use is sufficient for eval.
EPSS 1.0.10 includes:
Improved Data Management - No more exports and imports. All data management is handled in the CMDB.
Faster set up time - Because we eliminated the import export, EPSS takes minutes to set up and use.
Enforced policies - power schemes are enforced every 30 minutes.
Faster reports - Usage and Comparison reports execute in a fraction of the time of previous version, was a problem in large environments.
Change configuration reports - For large environments where PCs are added and removed.
All changes are summarized in the documentation.
Please post questions to forums.entisp.com. If you need a license please email info@entisp.com.
Thanks!
Joe
PS Stay tuned for eiPower Saver Solution 2.0 which will extend the Asset functions of reporting by location, assigning cost by location, network discovery to add and report on anything connected to the wire for total energy management and reporting. Stay tuned for more enhancements.

Hi All,
I subscribed to this post but am only now seeing the updates, sorry for the delay. If you want info in the future, please hit entisp.com>Contact us and we will respond immediately.
1.0.9 is in Beta and scheduled to be released on 11/10. In previous versions we received feedback about the keepinf EPSS sync'd with configuration changes in large environments. EPSS 1.0.9 has furthered integration with Inventory and CMDB by eliminating the previous connector import/exports and replaced it with a Task that completes this very efficiently. There are a number of other improvements we are continuing to test. For a beta release of the documentation, please visit entisp.com, login username: epss password: entisp21
Finally, please register at entisp.forums.com to receive the latest information.

Check out the links mentioned above - it should all be fairly self-explanatory; if (on the off-chance) between releases or adding more goodies into the code, I'd suggest maybe PM'ing Joe or from his website's support linka, you'll get the answers you need pretty quickly (that's been my experience). Joe's a really good guy with an extraordinary product that integrates VERY well with NS and allows for a very short learning-curve. Also, it provides for actual quantification of data (a.k.a. dollars wasted versus saved); something no I.T. manager should be without.

It is almost 4 months after the last post. Can we download this yet?
Thanks,
Jason

Wow has it been 9 months already? We've made great progress, eiPower Saver Solution is sold world wide via Altiris/Symantec/Dell sales reps as it has been placed on the Symantec third party product list. The major new functionality is integration with Altiris Asset Management, and SQL Reporting Services for some eye-candy like reports. And with that said, the MSI integration of such has been such that the installation of SQL Reporting Services reports will be done via an NS interface, rather than from the MSI.
With that said, we are a few days of posting the updated version. To get it, and stay updated on the latest progress of eiPower Saver Solution please register at forums.entisp.com. Non company domains (hotmail, gmail, etc) are not allowed. Also please visit entisp.com for brochures and more information.
Go green, stop wasting electricity, all without learning a new GUI, and maximizing your Altiris investment.
Best Regards,
Joe D'Agostino

Jun 23, 2008 10:28 AM

Is this available for download yet, or are there any plans to make it available? Or is the only option seeing the demo? Thanks,
Paul

If this is a solution available for the NS, where can we download a copy? It seems you can't do that from the website.
Cheers
A
