A reminder about support for certain Microsoft Operative Systems, It has been posted at the official Windows Team blog regarding support for Windows 2000, Vista RTM, and XP with Service Pack 2. The support for these three operating systems will end soon.

On April 13th, 2010, Windows Vista RTM will reach the end of support , instead for all versions of Windows 2000 and  Windows XP SP2 will reach the end of support on July 13th, 2010 [Updated].

Microsoft recommends those of you still on Windows XP SP2 to install the latest service pack available via the Windows Update to install the latest service pack,  Windows XP Service Pack 3 or thinking about moving to Windows 7.  For Windows Vista users the suggestion is install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (note you’ll need to install Service Pack 1 first).

Thanks for the reminder Riva. Just wanted to point out a typo in your date for 2000 and XP SP2, they reach end of support on July 13th, 2010 instead of April.

Also according to our MS TAM no SP4 for XP. No suprise, he referenced this document:

Hopefully they'd do like the did with W2K and release a final patch rollup instead of an actual SP.
