I've been thinking about high availability with regards to Enterprise Vault for a few weeks now.  A long time ago, in a far away place, there was a whitepaper which described some of the techniques that people can employ to make Enterprise Vault highly available.

I couldn't find the whitepaper on the Symantec web site any longer, but I did find a copy here.

Essentially the whitepaper talks about :

* Building blocks + Update Service Locations

* Veritas Cluster Server

* Microsoft Clustering

All of these of course have their pro's and con's.  One thing that they do miss out on a little bit is the 'data' side of things.  The Vault Store Partition data in particular.  One of the options available for that is EVnearSync from QUADROtech which I have worked with for a little while now.

Do you do specific things to make Enterprise Vault offer high availability?

Thanks for the info Rob! Does this mean there is no way to have the Vault Store Partition highly available without a third party product? (There is no way to have the product natively copy archive data to another server like how Exchange 2007 CCR clusters or Exchange 2010/2013 DAG can replicate mailbox data?)

That's correct. You need something third party, eg EVnearSync which is EV-specific data replication.
